Simon Warburton is to take over as West Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority’s executive director of transport in May. He will oversee activity across three transport directorates, bringing his experience of mass transit development and delivery, in addition to the case for bus franchising.

Warburton will join from Transport for Greater Manchester where he has been director of strategy for the past six years. He has been at TfGM (formerly GMPTE) since 2010 in roles covering policy, research and strategy.
