DfT’s Matthew explains LTP Guidance delay but stresses carbon reduction role
The delay in issuing local transport authorities with the promised guidance for a new generation of Local transport Plans was the result of the big changes in the Government leadership over the past few months and a succession of new Secretaries of State for Transport, Jessica Matthew, DfT’s co-director of local transport told the Local Transport Summit.
A year ago, a resurgence for Local Transport Plans based on new government guidance was signalled by Stephen Fidler, DfT’s co-director local transport when he spoke at the Local Transport Summit in Brentford in November last year (LTT835 2 Dec 2021).
