Emergency Covid funding ends for bus operators in Scotland
Bus companies in Scotland have become the first in Great Britain to return to operation without emergency funding connected to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Scottish Government told LTT it was disappointed that the UK Government had not sent a minister to a taskforce meeting last week where support for the bus sector was discussed.
The Scottish Government’s Network Support Grant Plus (NSG+) ended on 9 October. It was designed, as a temporary supplement to the long-term NSG, to help operators to recover from the reduction in passenger numbers which Covid-19 had inflicted.
