Cox returns to the Met

Andy Cox is to rejoin the Metropolitan Police after two and a half years as detective chief superintendent at Lincolnshire Police. Cox has been become a prominent figure in campaigning for road danger reduction and is the national lead for fatal collision investigation reporting to the National Police Chiefs’ Council. Cox will return to the Met as OCU Commander for the Transformation Directorate, focussing on the Commissioner’s ‘Turnaround Plan’ for organisational change. Speaking to LTT earlier this month, Cox said: “We should not accept 4 to 5 people dying every day in crashes within the UK and I urge bold policy and legislative action to help reduce this widespread devastation.”
