Tugwell calls for ‘systems thinking’ to place transport in wider context
A call for more ’systems thinking’ to support transport policy development and implementation was made by Transport for the North Chief Executive, martin Tugwell, at the Summit. This would include ensuring appropriate energy supplies for transport were in place as demand for electric power doubled.
The same thinking should be applied to bring quality of life, healthcare and social care dimentions into the transport mix, including adjusting appraisal procedures accordingly.
