Car club membership may be offered alongside Scottish scrappage scheme
People in low-income households in Scotland may be offered car club membership or rental of low-carbon vehicles in conjunction with a possible car scrappage scheme, transport minister Jenny Gilruth has revealed.
She told MSPs that work was being finalised on the design of a pilot mobility and scrappage scheme. “The proposed pilot will seek to give direct financial support to lower-income households and empower them to make different choices about how they travel.
