Sustrans welcomes support for LTN air quality benefits
Imperial College London’s study provides further evidence that Low Traffic Neighbourhoods can improve air quality for communities, according to Sustrans. The walking and cycling charity said LTNs play a key role in creating safer spaces for children, increasing footfall for local businesses, and enabling people to travel actively instead of being car-dependent.
“However, we must remember that for these schemes to be successful and for everyone, community consultation is essential throughout the planning, delivery and review process,” said a Sustrans spokesperson.
